Life Enrichment

CULTURAL

Berlin and the areas of Central Vermont offer fun and vibrant cultural events, shops, parks, restaurants, museums, and beautiful nature trails. At Chestnut Place, we offer regular outings to these attractions.

It could be a trip to the Vermont Historical Society Museum. It could be a musical performance or a visit to Peace Park. Or, a day of shopping or wine tasting. Whatever the outing, there is always something interesting on the horizon, and it’s a mainstay of the culturally enriched lifestyle we provide at Chestnut Place.

SOCIAL

Share your own talents and interests, too – perhaps you have a skill or passion you’d like to share with others. Or an activity you’ve always wanted to try. Gardening? Book Club? Games? Exercise Classes? We’re here to support the activities or interests that you’d like to share with your new neighbors. Just talk with our friendly staff and we’ll work with you to organize your club, hobby or event.

ENGAGEMENT

Our extensive experience and independent research demonstrate that individuals who are engaged in life are happier and healthier. That’s why at Chestnut Place we put so much emphasis on Life Enrichment. We offer a broad range of activities, social events, outings, and educational opportunities designed to support an engaging and enriching lifestyle.

Independent Living residents enjoy additional opportunities organized and presented by our creative staff, sparking interests and facilitating new connections. Residents enjoy cultural, educational, health orientated and social experiences through organized trips and events. We’ll even do the driving!

Assisted Living and Garden Memory Care neighborhoods enjoy full calendars of activities and outings, supported by our carefully selected staff, in order to facilitate and promote the cultural, educational, and spiritual enrichment opportunities as part of our residents’ daily experiences.

SPIRITUAL

At Chestnut Place, we encourage people from all walks of life to join our community. We recognize and celebrate a variety of spiritual traditions and respect each person’s lifestyle.

EDUCATIONAL

Life is a journey, and we are always learning. By offering artistic, cultural, intellectual, and technological opportunities, community members can pick and choose activities based on their individual interests.

In addition, we provide ongoing educational support to residents and their families in order to become familiar with what may be expected as needs change. Together, we’ll have peace of mind learning the various aspects of the aging journey in order to individually address any future needs.
